Even the reader who does not know the difference between a pictograph and a phonograph can follow Bicknell’s book to the places where history remains, quite literally, printed on stones.

Images From The Past gives the reader a brief description of each rock art location the writer has traveled to, all possessing an abundance of camera-worthy exhibits. Also included is a photograph of each area and a mention about some of the artwork to be found, as well as unique aspects of a particular site. Conveniently, the rock art guide notes camping facilities nearby, and warns of road conditions the driver will encounter. Most of the sites in the book can be accessed by car; however, a few will require a short hike to view the petroglyphs and pictographs.
